The framework for analyzing the data focused on the definitions of student engagement in the literature. All factors in the definitions were combined to facilitate the application of a single set of factors to the data gathering and analysis. When the findings from the study participants were compared with the factors to be considered when measuring student engagement, 12 of the 16 factors were present to a high degree.
