Much of the debate about health policy in the US has focused on the availability of health insurance coverage and the number of individuals who are uninsured. It is known that the United States spends approximately twice as much per capita on health care, There are limitations to the use of ICD9 codes to classify respondents as having the condition treated by a particular drug class. For some ICD9 codes, false positives are a concern: ICD9 53 includes other lipid disorders than high cholesterol.
